After the Pachinko theme Metal Gear Solid 3, presented to the public in the course of 2016,Konami has announced a new project dedicated to the universe of slot machines.
This time, the IP involved is that of Silent Hill, a famous series video game in shades of horror, as it features inside various chapters. The new slot machines will be shown for the first time to the public in Las Vegas, between the 15th and the 17th of October, on the occasion of the Global Gaming Expo. Introducing Silent Hill the Escape, this is the name designated for the equipment, the executive vice president and COO of Konami Gaming Inc., Tom Jingoli, said: “The purpose of Konami is to provide operators exceptional entertainment to reach and engage today’s players and beyond. We are leveraging a combination of technology, talent, design and development of high level to offer a mix of new products at this year’s event […]”.
The President of Konami Europe, Masami Saso, has recently declared, in relation to the market of console games, to work on IP known at the global level. It is not now known if, among the latter may be one of the series of Silent Hill, and if the company has intention to return in the future, the saga of the videogame market.

You read that right. The new slot machine is being made by Japanese company Takasago. It’s just a slot machine with icons based on the Silent Hill franchise. This is the newest thing to come out of the franchise since Konami cancelled Silent Hills.
A lot of people are not happy with this reveal already. The YouTube video in question has a lot of dislikes and many people are upset that the franchise has been licensed off to something meaningless like this.
The Silent Hill slot machine will be available to play in Japan on October 2015. The trailer itself shows glimpses of the previous games, although gameplay has nothing to do with this slot machine.

People were worried Konami’s franchises would end up being abused like this. Many had thought they would be turned into mobile games at least. Nobody expected the series to be turned into a slot machine. The YouTube video is full of negative comments. There isn’t anyone out there that likes this idea.
